Child Care Costs

Under Minnesota, unless otherwise agreed to by the parties and approved by the court, the court must order that work-related or education-related child care costs of children (daycare) be divided between the parents based on their proportionate share of their combined monthly income. (PICS). The amount of work-related or education-related child care costs required to be divided between the parents is based on a formula set up in Minnesota law and takes into account tax implications.
